Research On The Modern Life Education In College

The lack of life consciousness is relatively common among contemporary college students. They cannot aware of the holiness and precious of life. Besides, in this increasingly competitive environment for students in today’s society, we see an endless number of reports about the suicidal and slaying events of college students, which cast a spotlight on life education of college students. Life education, known as whole-person education, makes people have a balanced development in physiology, psychology, society and spirituality. A beautiful life need to be created, so the life education plays an important role in pursuing the value and meaning of life. As a critical period in the whole life, college life makes an influential effect on the college students, who will be the pillars of society in the future. Therefore, it’s extremely urgent for the college to develop the life education. Being an important component of higher education, life education should comply with the demand of the change of society and nature of education to encourage the development of university students. This thesis makes a research on life education by analyzing the current situation and problems on our higher education. Learning from the western developed country (region), the author proposes educational countermeasures according with China Higher Education.This thesis firstly intends to describe the background and meaning of the higher life education, and states the current situation of life education at home and abroad. Then, the content, goals, characteristic and effect of life education is described in the next section. Aiming at the problems of less emphasis, activities and theories, the thesis concludes a detailed analysis. While the western developed countries (regions), Chinese Hongkong and Chinese Taiwan have a long history development and fine theory, such as the death education which makes students can perceive the death and feel calm to face the death. All of these can provide a reference for our life education. However, differ in ideology, mainstream value, religious faith and cultural background, and the form and content of life education to the western countries (regions), China should search for her own strategies and methods based on the special national condition. Enriching the content of higher life education, combining with family education and other disciplines should be included. There should be more publicity to encourage college students to come into the world and have more practical activities, spreading life education all over the society and establishing a correct view of life education.
