Aesthetic education is an important part of the ancient system of primary education. It attracts more and more attention of contemporary aesthetics academia research. Based on the research related to the former, this paper uses the creative aesthetic principles to discuss the ancient aesthetic formation mechanism fully. After clarifying the concept of Primary Aesthetic Education, we analyze the current situation of primary aesthetic education and the lack of academic research. Then, we establish the basic ideas and methods of this study. From the angles of synchronic and history, this paper explains the contents of the ancient primary aesthetic education, approaches and characteristics. It summarizes the historydevelopment stages of ancient primary aesthetic education.Later, we use Chinese and western aesthetic principles and theories to demonstrate the formation mechanism of ancient primary aesthetic education. Finally, by comparing the ancient and modern primary aesthetic education, we rethink and criticize the current primary aesthetic education.Paper points out that before Qin Dynasty, "Six Arts" education established the direction and content of later primary aesthetic education. Specifically, the "ritual and music" is the center of it. Poetry, music and calligraphy belongs to aesthetic emotion education; ritual, morality and Confucianism is the moral emotion education;to sweep, response, diet, travel just like life emotional education; the direction, countingand so on just as life skills education. Thus, primary aesthetic emotion has different features such assynthesis, lively, morality and natural. While ancient primary aesthetic education does not have the independence, but at different times it has different focuses. For example, Zong Baihuasaid that "calligraphy risesafter the death of music " represents the feature of aesthetic education before Tang Dynasty. After Tang Dynasty, “ritual replaced calligraphy.”Moral education was the main part of primary education system in ancient time. How can aestheticeducationstand out and help current primary education? Firstly, the paper uses the Chinese principle, “beauty because of Wen” and “Wen” means “mixing”, to explain “ritual and music” and “virtue and beauty”. Secondly, we use western principles to analyzes the relationship of rational knowledge, natural emotion and moral emotion with aesthetic emotionseparately. Thirdly, we make it clear that the relationship of aesthetic and moral education.Last but not the least, the current primary aesthetic education is in trouble of "art of non-humanities". We can learn from "virtue goes with beauty" of ancient primary aesthetic education and do something to improve it.Above all, using the theory and methods of aesthetics to make interpretation of ancient primary aesthetic education can not only help deepen our understanding of the principles of aesthetics, but also help us use the knowledge of the ancient to the present. At last, although my teacher, Prof. Peng put forwards many recommendations for this paper, I didn’t finish it very well because I lack sufficient knowledge and time to do it. Thanks my teacher for guiding me to finish this paper.
