Ecology has been widely used in the field of sociology early in the 20 th century. Then it gradually produced the idea of ecological education which mainly studies the education phenomena and explores the principle and tendency of education development. Compared to the traditional English teaching, the ecological one is in line with the principle of education development. Ecological teaching indicates a certain kind of teaching which is effective, dynamic and developing. In general, it is environmental and harmonious.The thesis is based on the theory of ecological education. In order to examine the practical application of English grammar ecological teaching in high school, the author employed the empirical research as the main research method. In the experiment, the author selected two classes and the author is the English teacher of the two classes. They are Senior two Class 7 and Senior two Class8. Both of the two classes are at the same level in Ganzhou High School and they are similar in many aspects. Senior two Class 7 which consists of 51 students is the experimental group while Senior two Class 8 with 52 students is the control group. The thesis is aimed at finding out whether the ecological concept can promote student’s ability of using English grammar effectively, and whether it has a positive impact on students’ emotional attitude to English grammar learning. The study is also aimed at forming an English grammar teaching model from the perspective of ecological teaching to fit for high school’ English grammar teaching. The main research instruments are grammar test, questionnaire and interview.Over half a year, the author have conducted the new English grammar ecological teaching in Senior two Class 7 but the traditional one in Senior two Class 8. On the one hand, before the experiment, the author carried out a questionnaire about students’ attitude to English grammar learning in the experimental class. Then after the experiment, the author carried out the same questionnaire again. On the other hand, before and after the experiment, the author carried out grammar tests among the control group. Besides, the author interviewed some students from experimental group about their opinions on the traditional grammar teaching and their remarks on the effect of English grammar ecological teaching. After half a year’s experiment, the author collected the related data. The grammar test data was analyzed with SPSS17.0 software for statistical analysis. Through comparison and analysis, it turned out that after applying the new English grammar teaching model in the experimental group, students in the experimental group have improved much in terms of emotional attitude to learning grammar. Besides, their grasp of English grammar appears better than that in control group, that is to say, English grammar ecological teaching model has a positive role in promoting high school students learning English grammar. Additionally, an English grammar ecological teaching model was formed, which proves effective in grammar teaching. This study not only has a theoretical significance of enriching ecological theory but also has a practical significance to improve high school students’ emotional attitude to learning English grammar and improve their grammar leaning ability.
