Music offers people the truth, the kindness and the beauty which are the pursuit of ideological and political course in high school. Therefore, it is necessary to study the employment of music in ideological and political course of high school. On the one hand, it can deepen the theoretical study of ideological and political teaching in high school and the functional study of moral education of music. On the other hand, it can pass the positive energy by music in practice, improve the quality of ideological and political teaching in high school, and become the expectation of high school students for ideological and political lessons.The main research methods of the thesis are literature methodology and combined theory with practice. With analysis of high school students, it further discusses the employment of music in ideological and political teaching on the basis of the theory of ideological and political teaching and music. The thesis is divided into five parts.The introduction part is mainly about the definitions, the significance of the study, research background and methods.The first chapter displays the application of the relevant ideas and theories of music in ideological and political teaching of high school. Music is connected with ideological and political teaching of high school. The ideas and theories of many scholars all over the world provide theoretical premises for this thesis.The second chapter is about the significance of the employment of music in ideological and political teaching of high school. That is to promote comprehensive development of high school students, to meet the needs of high school students, and to inspire students’ interest in learning. The teachers set up teaching ideas of students-center, so that a harmonious relationship between teachers and students and the ecological classes are developed. The three-dimensional teaching targets, especially sentiments and values, are achieved. In order to improve efficiency, vitality and quality of ideological and political teaching of high school, the teachers should use various teaching methods to transform students’ learning approaches, integrate teaching resources and carriers, and fully use multimedia teaching means, and the like.The third chapter analyzes the data and indicates the research results, that is, the status quo of music application in the related fields and the cause of the music in the high school and the ideological and political education in the ideological and political course.It can be seen from the results that music is popular among high school students and the society. However, music is neglected by ideological and political teaching of high school and high school itself, which cannot satisfy the needs of high school students. There are several causes: the limitation of traditional intelligence theory and exam-oriented education, education utilitarianism, partial pursuit of graduation rates, and "only the score theory" evaluation standard.The fourth chapter is the conclusion. Principles, methods and effect of the employment of music in ideological and political teaching are given in this part. Principles are as follows: the principle of positive energy, the ideological and political education; the principle of activities of teachers and students; the principle of “Three-Approach”; the principle of “proper time and degree”; the principle of multiple intelligences. The methods are: Music is integrated into ideological and political teaching. For example, the teachers play kinds of music during the teaching, such as the theme of patriotism and the love for Chinese and Chinese Communist Party; folk songs with local features; the songs of valuing family, friendship, love; the music with inspiration and contemporary; and the excellent new songs. More specifically, music is employed in the learning of compulsory 1"the economic life"; the compulsory 2 "the political life"; the compulsory 3 "the cultural life; the required 4 "life and philosophy". Music can arouse the creativity of students.Effect: students and teachers in the positive energy of the music in common development.
