Today the speed of knowledge updating is faster and faster, and it is the basic requirement of university education to train the college students to meet the requirements of the development of the times. It has become an urgent problem in teaching work for universities making college students from the passive learning state of "want me to learn" into an active learning process of "I want to learn" through the cultivation of autonomous learning. But now most of the researches’ objects on autonomous learning are students from primary and secondary school, and the majority of the researches are the theoretical research. As far as the subject is concerned, there are many researches on the autonomy of language learning, but the empirical research is still very little. Specifically for college students physical autonomous learning and training of empirical research is even more can be described as very few.We chose two classes respectively as the experimental class and the contrast class. They are from civil engineering major and computer science and technology major of undergraduate level 2014 in Hefei University of technology. Select the contents of the electromagnetic part of general physics as the experimental teaching content. Always let the same teacher to teach the two classes throughout the hole teaching experiment and make sure the teaching time is basically consistent. Take some teaching methods such as reflective writing, group talking and students teaching in the experimental class. For comparison, only carry the traditional type of teaching in the contrast class. Test the study subjects by the College Students’ autonomous learning scale and the conceptual survey of electricity and magnetism before and after the experiment. And use SPSS 19.0 software to analysis all the experimental data. The experimental results show that reflective writing, students teaching and group talking are effective for the cultivation of college students’ physical autonomous learning, and there may be some correlation between the knowledge of physics and the level of autonomous learning.This paper adopts the way of empirical research to explore the methods and effects of physical autonomous learning for Engineering Students, in order to have a reference to the relevant research of College Students’ autonomous learning and the reform of high effective physics teaching.
