Drawbacks of professional education continuously highlight. The society called on higher education to cultivate good public citizens, rather than professional talents that merely possessing one kind of skill for meeting the needs of work. General education guided the universities about talent training mode of reflection, devoted themselves to shaping healthy personality and forging critical spirit, breaking the barriers between disciplines, educating complete knowledge and promoting the integration of the disciplines and the grasp of methodology. General education also explored which type of education should provide, and eventually cultivated which kind of person to correspond to the concept of university education and democratic society needs.This paper described backgrounds and the selected reasons of the dissertation, introduced general education theory and practice of the status and reviewed the research status at home and abroad. This paper also analyzed research significance of this topic, introduced the related research methods and research ideas, defined on general education and the core concepts of curriculum, and sketched principles of the Taylor curriculum. Guangxi University was the object of this research. Using methods of questionnaire survey and personal interviews, general education curriculum of Guangxi University had been investigated and analyzed. This paper revealed present situation of general education of Guangxi University and evaluated the developing situation of general education and analyzed the achievements had been obtained and the existing shortcomings in Guangxi University. This paper analyzed the feasibility, necessity of the curriculum construction in Guangxi University, based on the status of general education curriculum of Guangxi University. Guided by concepts of general education, this research tried to analysis theory of curriculum construction of Guangxi University general education by using Taylor curriculum theory as a theoretical tool. Then try designing the curriculum system of Guangxi University general education, dividing the curriculum domain, and arranging the education curriculum.This paper argues that the main position of general education to carry out the distribution of elective courses in the classroom teaching. The elective course of distribution has a unified educational goal and the inner philosophical foundation, through the elaborate course and efficient teaching and face-to-face communication between teachers and students interact to promote the implementation of general education. The network general course has its advantages, but there are some defects, such as lack of interaction and the lack of the overall goal, which is the auxiliary part of general education. This paper divided Guangxi University General Education Curriculum System into four parts:compulsory courses, distribution of elective courses, free elective courses, hidden curriculum. Compulsory courses are curriculum which all students should study. Distribution of elective courses are composed of seven core-areas curriculum, students must follow the principles of cross discipline and choose five areas to get 12 credits at least. Free elective courses are composed of network courses, students should get 2 credits without any requirements. Manager should make full use of regional cultural characteristics and school-based resources, excavate the connotation of school history, enrich campus activities, and build general education curriculums with regional characteristics and campus characteristics. In the implementation of general education curriculum, this paper argued that Guangxi University general education committee must be established. The committee should be responsible for the unified management of school’s general affairs of general education, strengthen the assessment of curriculum, and improve the curriculum.
