In recent years, sport events and tourism are interacted frequently. Golf event tourism, as a part of tournament tourism market, the demand of which is showing a growing trend. There were three international professional golf tournaments in China2013, two of which(BMW Golf Masters and the HSBC Championships) were held in Shanghai.Firstly, I reviewed of domestic and foreign electronic literature and the documents of the golf tournament, then defined the concepts, while analyzing and summing up the existing literature from the main line of golf tourism and travel motivations, form the basis for research paper.Secondly, reviewing of the current existing scale and form the golf tournament tourists’ motivation measurement tools— questionnaires of Shanghai golf tournament Motivation, and get the motivation factors of Shanghai tournament tourists: retained the five motivation factor "knowledge gained motivation", "escape the pressure of motivation", "achievement motivation", "social interaction motivation", "family motivation" and the revised one "unique aesthetic motivation",and ultimately form six major motivation factors. To explore the differences between tourists with different demographic characteristics by independent samples T-test and ANOVA.Finally, make recommendations based on research results: The motivation is based on six major golf tournament in Shanghai tourists subdivide, and according to the differences with different characteristics, and provide marketing suggestions for the development of Shanghai tour golf tournament.
