Research On The Reform Of Local Universities And Colleges’ Applied Talents Cultivation

Local universities and colleges are important parts of higher education, which have a huge impact on our country’s talents cultivation. This study uses the methods of literature research and case studies try to point out on the stage of economic transformation and mass higher education, we are facing a serious shortcoming about the employment of college graduates, the increasingly fierce international competition in higher education, as well as the inherent requirements of local universities and colleges, we must pay attention to the applied talents cultivation. Only through the reforms to nurture a large number of high-quality applied talents, can we make a further development on the present foundation. And this paper notes two orientations for local universities and colleges on applied talents cultivation, which are entrepreneurship education and university-enterprise cooperation.Local universities and colleges have many problems in the process of applied talents cultivation:the blindness and convergence on the setting of disciplines and subjects; too much emphasis on theoretical knowledge and the ignorance of application knowledge, the curriculum system does not meet the aims of applied talents cultivation; in practical teaching, application lessons are less, the platform which can support the implementation of practical teaching is not enough; on the evaluation of teaching, local universities and colleges have not really achieve school autonomy, it is difficult to evaluate their teaching performance due to their own orientation and educational reality. To solve these problems, the study proposes the corresponding improvement measures. The author analyzes the current status of local universities and colleges on the basis of the teaching staff, funding, guarantee policy, points out local colleges must strengthen the teaching staff, invest more funds and improve guarantee policy to ensure the reform of applied talents cultivation. Finally, the author research the Z University’s practice of the reform of applied talents cultivation to explore local universities and colleges’ actions to promote the reform of applied talents cultivation.
