A Research On Legal Faith Of The Contemporary College Students And Its Improvement Measures

In October 2014, President Xi first proposed the "four comprehensive" strategic layout which referred to comprehensively promoting the rule of law when he did research in Jiangsu.Promoting the rule of law requires a country with a sound legal system as well as people with firm faith to law. Legal faith is not only a kind of subjective grasping method of social subject based on the phenomenon of social law but also a convincing sense of identity and prevail, psychological basis of the rule of law as well. College students, as favored, is an outstanding social group as well as reserve forces of the socialist the rule of law construction.As a result, their Legal faith makes a great difference on the future of both the country and the nation. What’s more, cultivation of college student’s Legal faith is also an important part of the ideological and political education. Thus, this paper sets about the status of contemporary college students’ Legal faith, devotes to researching the cultivation methods of college students’ legal faith.The author looked through and sorted out a large number of theoretical results related to legal faith before formal study. On this basis, contemporary college students’ legal faith then was researched. From the survey results, legal faith problems, caused by various reasons,are commonly existing among contemporary college students. Then, the author made an in-depth analysis on these problems and causes, proposing some solution of effectiveness.This thesis is divided into four parts. The first part mainly introduces the background and significance of the research, research status and research methods, and defines related concepts about college students’ Legal faith. The second part is the analysis of the questionnaire from college students of Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications.And it shows that college students have already set up basic legal knowledge, established legal consciousness and legal concept as a whole. But the author also found some issues like confusion of Legal faith, the utility of the Legal faith and the discrepancy choice between the law and the behavior etc. The third part analyzes the reason of the lack of legal faith of college students in terms of college law-related education, legal environment, and traditional culture. In the forth part, the solutions are figured out against the causes of these problems. In order to probe specific methods of cultivating college students’ legal faith contributing to effective improvement of the college students’ awareness of establishing Legal faith, the author suggests to improve the quality of legal education in colleges and universities, perfect the rule of law practice,and combine law education and moral education together.
