Functional fitness training first appeared in physical medicine and rehabilitation, when associated with disease after surgery by a physical therapist in view of the actual situation of patients to design the corresponding exercises of patients training to help the faster into the normal work and life. Along with the improvement of people’s understanding of functional physical training, the field of use is also more and more widely and gradually completed the transition to the direction of competitive sports.In this paper, through literature research, expert interviews and comparative analysis of the general and functional of the two different kinds of strength training for in-depth study, and put forward the following points of view:The training mechanism of general strength training and functional strength training is different. The former is to anatomy, morphology and human tectonics as the theoretical basis, in the physical state is more stable under the premise, in the decomposition of movement training and analytical to stimulate the strength of the major muscles of the human body. On the one hand is functional strength training in the training process prone to size muscle imbalance, prone to sports injuries, power quality is hard to be transformed for special quality and power transfer process inefficiency,in this case, we need to combine the functional strength training with the traditional strength training, exert the advantages of various strength training methods, and avoid the defects to achieve the effective power. On the other hand, the general strength training as a basic training, the advanced experience and characteristics can also be used for functional strength training, but functional strength training on this basis and in the requirement, function and the way to exist particularity, So the realization of effective strength training can be realized through the support and transmission of the core part of the body through functional strength training on the basis of general strength training.
