The behavior of the open source community and the research of the law behind it can provide some reference value for the development of the software company’s business strategy. Our main concern is the motivation of the open source community developers and the impact of the choice of business model on the performance of the contribution.Specifically, the intrinsically motivated developers tend to contribute to the projects with a highly open license. What they behave is purely for their faith:open source software sharing spirit. This is a noble ideology. Open developers feel that software resources should be shared to promote common progress, rather than profitable, closed software will lead to slow development of human. Instead, developers driven by external things are more concerned about their own income, including career and reputation, they are more likely to contribute the company funded, relatively closed projects. In addition, they are more likely to contribute those influential projects (project size is large, with many members), or software developer oriented projects. Only in this way can quickly improve their reputation in the peer, get the biggest commercial benefits.Similarly, each contribution to the project receiving and whether or not the public, especially received request submission open, will greatly affect the closed the enthusiasm of the developers, our study found that people who like to publicly filed a request as a result of the project will attract more closed type development are. Public each contribution to the author and information this will improve the enthusiasm of many developers, because it meets their sense of achievement, and make them get fame and peer recognition, perhaps this is a good suggestion to the company.Commercial sponsorship will also affect the contribution of different developers enthusiasm. For outside interests drive closed type developers, commercial sponsorship can make them for commercial gain, including money and career awareness, to a potential employer will display of skills, so the developers should tend to be more commercial sponsorship of the project to contribute. On the contrary, anonymous developers should be the least affected by this, even because they have their own open source ideals and beliefs, will instinctively inconsistent commercial sponsorship. Our statistical regression study also confirms this. The difference of performance on different types of developers, we after thinking that closed type developers, in general have is very much part of the experience is not rich in the new, they expect gain reputation and professional, and open type or anonymous developer, because in general have experienced, called Daniel, so will more concerned about the values, pay attention to the ideology of the open source software, so the closed type of developers in the average performance, it should be is lower than that of the open type developers. In our analysis, the performance of the project or developer is measured by the amount of downloads. We believe that the project has better quality and function, and the performance is better. In the actual analysis, the results also confirm our conjecture:open developers are more performance than closed. Our study can make some reference to the software company strategy, whether they want to attract developers how they can how much to give up intellectual property, how to balance the relationship between the developer interests and aspirations, and profits. They if want to attract more high performance open type developer, then it is necessary to use more open license, but as a result, losses in the intellectual property rights of return, if they take into account the interests of developers closed, closed permits selection, for the purposes of this kind may open developers will conflict even away from them.
