Because of globalization, English is more and more important for China. Thus, improving students’ English ability is one of the significant objectives of Chinese education. With the deepening of education reform, more and more scholars believe that student-centered classes can do more benefits for students and the teacher’s roles should be a conductor, assistant, organizer and participator, instead of an indoctrinator. Based on this, Mediation Theory becomes more and more popular. However, among so much related research, there is a lack in the correlation between English teachers’ mediation and students’ English test scores in China.According to Feuerstein’s mediation theory and other related theories, this research is administered to find answers to two major questions: 1. Are students’ English test scores related with their English teachers’ mediation? What is the correlation if they are related with each other? 2. Are English test rankings of different classes related with their English teachers’ recognition of mediation? What is the correlation if they are related with each other? The whole study is made up of four parts. The researcher does questionnaire survey on 200 students at the same original English level, 30 students in Grade Three, 53 graduated students and 30 English teachers. Among them, 20 graduated students and 20 students in Grade Three are interviewed.Analysis results indicate that there is a positive correlation between students’ English test scores and their English teachers’ mediation in high school. However, this correlation does not always exist. When students are in Grade Three, the English teachers’ mediation has no obvious effect on the students’ English test scores.Based on the findings, this study suggests that English teachers’ mediation in the fundamental period of high school can do more benefits for students’ test scores than in the last period. Therefore, in high school, improving English teachers’ mediation in Grade One and Two can be a way to improving students’ English test scores.
