Teachers are the important human capital in the development of education and it is the core of improving the quality of education. The development of university teachers is the prerequisite for the development of higher education. At present, many universities in our country have not carried out the self evaluation of university teachersand the main purpose of the existing evaluation system is to provide the basis for the management of teachers. Through the self-evaluation index, the university teachers can strengthen their self understanding and self improvement. The purpose of this study is to provide theframework for the self-development of the teachers by constructing the University Teachers’ self-evaluation index system. In the theoretical study, we make the notion “teacher evaluation”, “University Teachers”, “self-evaluation”, “teacher’s self-evaluation”and“college teacher’s self-evaluation” clearly. Secondly, it is thebasic theory study which mainly focus on “competency model”,“humanism thought of Western Marxism” and “the development of teacher’s evaluation”theory. These basic theory provide the main theoretical framework and ideological foundation for the establishment of index system.In the qualitative study, we constructing the University Teachers’ self-evaluation index systemthrough collecting thepolicy and the surveying the teachers. We ensure the content of university teacher’s self-evaluation index system through analysing the level indicators and secondary indicators and three indicators respectively.In the empirical study, this paper mainly adopts the methods of interview and questionnaire. We use random sampling method in the questionnaire. We survey 50 college teachers about their opinion in university teachers self-evaluation index system and using the index system of testing. Through the survey statistics, analysis the importance of indicatorsand measured results of teacher’s self-evaluation. I randomly selected 10 faculty from participating the survey of the teachers to proceed the openinterviews which mainly focus on the relative problems on the current evaluation system of university teachers, whether the self-evaluation index system exist or not and how the self-evaluation index plays for teachers. According to the theoretical research, the current situation analysis and the logical analysis, I establish the scientific university teacher’s self-evaluation index system. And then I testing the index to ensure it can work out normally.
