Textbook is the primary factor of leading curriculums.The first aspect of teaching reform about the basic curriculum is the textbook reform. With the appearance andintroduction of the new curriculum, teaching materials are turning from "textbook" to "learning materials".The textbook reform is the core of education reform, which plays an important role in personnel training, accumulating and spreading scientific and cultural knowledge and promoting students’ individual development of all aspects. Based on the deep and multi-angle analysis of two countries chemistry textbook, this paper aims to revise the content of chemistry textbook and the design of teaching. In this paper, there are five chapters including the introduction and conclusion. The first chapter clarifies the purpose and significance of the research, mainly through the ananlysis of the literature and the status of the chemistry textbook at home and abroad. Whether industrial production or drug research, chemistry has always played a very important role in the scentific.The development of chemical textbooks also depends on the chemical application. The second chapter clarifies the function of textbook using the theory knowledge, the direction of curriculum reform and textbook reform, including the evaluation principles of teaching materials.We specifically study the concept and application of Chinese PEP textbooks and the United States mainstream textbooks through the comparative approach. The theory of comparative education is also mentioned in this chapter. The third chapter analyzes the basic content and knowledge structure of the chemical materials, the status of chemical education, the teaching of chemistry classes, reviews the characteristics and shortcomings in the layout combined with national conditions. It also analyzes the overall structure of American textbooks and partial knowledge content and summarizes the features of the content layout.especially the category design and the research design of experiments.The forth chapter reviews the concept and significance of the topic textbooks,as well as the necessties.The conclusions based on the recommendations of Ausubel’s learning theory the topic textbooks design is a integral design essentially,it has a social cultivating aim and detemines the content system.
