Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) has set off a boom since 2012 for four years. During the process of development, large amounts of learning data have been generated by registers. For educators, these data is undoubtedly a very attractive bonanza. Analyzing, sorting and mining these data will contribute to the study of the characteristics and behavior of the learners, thus it will provide guidance for the improvement of teaching design and the students’self adaptation learning.In this article, the author review the development process of MOOC and comb the domestic and abroad literature development situation. In this paper, the domestic famous MOOC platform is selected as object of this study, then analysis the learner’s behavior log data. Using a variety of research tools and a variety of research methods, extracting and cleaning all the students’ log behavior data from X.com’ platform,and then standardize it.The author research on the learning behavior characteristic from the four aspects:learners’own behavior characteristic、learning behavior of watching video、practice exercises in courseware、the interaction behavior in the forum. At the same time,the author explores the factors that affect the characteristics of these behaviors by using correlation analysis and independent sample test. At last, cluster the MOOC learners by K-means cluster analysis to 4 types. This paper is divided into six parts, the specific contents are as follows:The first part describe the background, research purpose, significance and research tool of the research. At the same time, the overall framework and research ideas of the paper are also described.The second part formed the present situation of domestic and foreign research by reading literatures and analyzed the theory surveys. Thus it is necessary to pave the way for the research of this paper.The third part introduce the platform and the course. This chapter simply introduces the X.com platform and the course of <XX principle>,elaborate the reasons for choosing this course and the content framework of the course.The forth part is the analysis of the learner’s learning based on the behavior log data, including the property of learners, each behavior analysis and the factors that influence these behaviors, the relationship between learning behavior and learning effect, and the analysis of learner’s type.The fifth part is about the conclusion of the research and put forward suggestions and strategies.The last part is about deficiency and prospect. This chapter mainly summarizes the whole research, and reflects the limitations of the study, and puts forward the future research direction.
