"Learning Stories" is a kind of observational and analytical method from New Zealand, which sees children as "powerful and confident learners and communicators". Inspired by the appeal for the learner image of children, this study tends to use Learning Stories to build up the learner image of the children with special need in the background of the preschool inclusive education.The research was achieved by qualitative method.The researcher selected a 5-year-old child from an inclusive kindergarten and used Learning Stories to observe、 evaluate and support action. Observations and interviews was applied to gather data and qualitative analysis method-coding, category analysis combined with situational analysis was used in data analysis.The conclusion of the research indicates:①In certain context, the child showed at least one or more learning dispositions like" interest, involvement, communication, responsibility", showing the powerful potential of a child with special need. Whereas, we found that the child quit easily in front of difficulty and we tried to evaluate it from ecological environment and the relationship between the child and the adult. ②The learner image of the child with special need required the combined support from teachers, friends and parents.View towards advantages, sharing and action function of Learning Stories promoted the three roles to change positively, thus stimulated the establishment of the learner image of the child.Based on the conclusion and the experience of the application of Learning Stories during the study, the solutions as follows: ①Great attention should be paid to the potential of the children with special need and joint effort should be made:Teachers should take active action and link the relationship with parents and friends;Friends should be imposed to pay attention to these child and peer-tutor strategy can be considered; Parents should take active part in the communication between home andschool;②Suggestions from five fields:observe, analyse, write, discuss, action was made for the application of Learning Stories in the child with special need.
