Research On How To Build Health Class

As the further development and reform of education, a research topic on "Build a Healthy Class Based on Development of Students" has been put forward at the meeting of the twelfth five-year plan of Hubei province in 2012. Nowadays, every senior high school is doing teaching research on how to develop Health Class, hoping to find ways to achieve some important improvements, and promoting the development of the school.This research is of the same goal. And this is just the beginning. Because of lack for systematical theories as support, this research bases the study on the first hand material of teaching practice, and studies what are Health Classes in students’ perspective, observing their reaction and requests in a certain number of practical teaching classes. We hope to bring out some effective methods and suggestions. In the research we did a teaching investigation among students, asking their opinions on their teachers; and we observed some reading classes, and the classes of one especially loved teacher, we hope to find out what are the points that make students enjoy the class and have a healthy class.Through this study, we find that students don’t have a certain request for a teaching pattern, but they need a good studying atmosphere, they hope to enjoy the class the procedure. Based on our study, we put forward the following five suggestions, which are often ignored by teachers:1. Teachers should improve themselves, trying hard to be a teacher loved by students, then students can enjoy the class.2. We don’t need to pursue a certain teaching pattern, but to base our teaching on students’ needs and their hobbies, give them what we want, and provide some good conditions for them to study.3. Not that students love those who has no temper at all, but students do need a classroom with good order, so a reliable teacher should be capable to maintain a good order during the teaching procedure.4. Good appearance of a teacher may leave students a good impression, so students can be more enjoyable in the class.5. For students especially in the mountainous area, teachers should make some proper adjustments to the given teaching materials to make them more suitable for students in the class, and give them more knowledge as well as enjoying of life.This research is specially for the mountainous senior high students, the aim is very clear, thus it will surely be significant for English teaching in this target school and even the whole mountainous area teaching. And it will provide some practical evidence for theoretical development of Health Class.
