Phonics is one of the English teaching methods, which helps students to build a relationship between sounds and letters. Students know its rules, and spell the words.This paper optimizes the integration of English phonetic teaching and phonics in primary school from two respects of theoretical research and practical application,strive to build high-quality and efficient classroom.This thesis includes five parts. Part 1: Introductions. This part introduces the backgrounds, significances, literature reviews, contents and methods of this research.Part 2: Concept definition and the theoretical basis related to this research. Part 3:Exploration of integration strategies of phonics and phonetic teaching. This part describes the characteristics and existing problems of phonetic teaching firstly, then analyzes the value of phonics, and proposes the instructional application framework and main strategies of the integration finally. Part 4: Practice of the integration. This part concludes practice preparation, main practices, and effects of the integration. Part5: Conclusion and expectations. The last part summarizes the main points and points out the inadequacy of this research which should be studied further.The innovation of this paper is integrating educational phonics as assistant tools into traditional English phonetic teaching in primary school, and putting forward practical strategies and examples of the integration. This research optimizes the teaching mode and injects new vitality into instructional design of the traditional Chinese phonetic teaching in primary school.
