Content With the rapid development of science and technology as well as economy of China and the gradual popularization of Internet technology, mobile phones and web2.0 technology in the 21 th century, new media have become a new medium form that supersedes traditional media and produced significant influences on everyone’s thoughts and behaviors. In China’s education field, new platforms and ways of education and teaching arising from new media technology are playing a more and more important role. They not only inject new vitality into the traditional education way but also provide modern middle school students with a large quantity of information resources and a broader information platform. New media have changed our modes of learning, life and thinking, penetrated into every corner of middle school campuses and influenced the moral education of middle schools in every regard. Middle school students are in adolescence and the features in this period determine that they inevitably have great curiosity toward new media and become one of the groups that most quickly accept the influence by new media while the large amount of information conveyed in the new media filed also brings a great impact on the moral cultivation of middle school students. As it were, new media development brings opportunities to the moral education as well as unprecedented severe challenges to the moral education in the middle school. Therefore, we, as moral educators in the middle school, should treat these new changes by new media with a correct attitude, go with the tide rather than resist the new media, clearly understand new media as well as their positive and negative influences, possess the ability to control the new media, and give fully play to the strengths of new media to develop the moral education in the middle schools.Moral education is crucial and indispensable for a country. Whether middle school students possess good moral sentiments, a strong spiritual belief in socialism and a common idea base is of great importance to succeed in realizing modernization construction, the reform and opening-up policy and the great rejuvenation of Chinese nation. China is currently at a stage of rapid economic development and is always ranking the world’s economic growth rate, and Chinese economy is integrating into the world economy. During this process, Chinese technologies, culture and thoughts are brought in line with the world and being tested. Thus, it is even more important to pay high attention to moral education in the middle school during this period. As a result, this article studies the influences of new media on the moral education in the middle school and how to deal with it, which has great significance on how to develop the moral education in the new period.This article, in combination with new media’s functions and features, focusses on the popularization of new media and their influences on the moral education in the middle school and discusses what coping strategies should be adopted for the moral education in the middle school in the context of new media. This article is divided into five parts: the first part is introduction which mainly introduces the topic selection background and significance, elaborates the research status on this topic both at home and abroad and displays the main study methods and innovation points and difficulties of this article; the second part is the interpretation of new media. It introduces emphatically the concept, categorization, features and main functions of new media which is the basis of the whole discourse and also paves the way for the following elaboration of the positive and negative influences of new media; the third part is the keystone of this article. It comprehensively elaborates the positive and negative influences on the moral education in the middle school by new media and provides a theoretic basis for the exposition of the fourth part; in the fourth part, specific feasible measures are proposed against the negative influences to enable the moral education in middle school to change responsively, keep up with the times and run the new media to explore new ways of moral education and develop moral education well; the fifth part is conclusion, which makes a summary to the whole process of elaboration of the article.This article utilizes the observation method, questionnaire survey and interview method to analyze the influences of new media on moral education in middle school, and expounds, by means of experience summarization, the strategies of moral education in middle school in the context of new media through reading through plenty of literatures and comparing and learning from the mature moral education methods of some regional middle schools. The study result and conclusion of this article help middle school teachers and students and relevant education departments understand the basic law of moral education under the background of new media. The methods and strategies derived from this article are conducive to the application of middle school teachers and students in the practical work and study and further enrich the theoretical result of moral education in middle school.
