Purpose: By studying English reading and its different duration’s influences towards English academic records of Junior high school students, the research probes into the promotion impact of reading duration on English study records, thereby, sums up Junior high school English teaching method for reference.Method: To find out the the effect of reading duration on improving Junior high school students’ English Study records, the research chose 8th Grade students of the First semester(in Panshi Middle School, Shimen County, Hunan Province) as study objects, employed statistical approaches, such as Descriptive statistical analysis, Pair-Sample T Test and Analysis of Variance to compare how big a role the three different reading duration interference play respectively in improving students’ English records, basing on the statistical data.Result: The research found the study records of Control group without reading interference has no big change before and after while the Experimental group’s records exist significant difference. Moreover, in order of most effective, it goes: 20 minutes, 30 minutes, 10 minutes. After further Analysis of Variance, it shows the effect varies a lot between 20minutes’ reading and 10minutes’ s. However, there is no big difference between 30minutes’ reading and 10minutes’ or 20minute’s. At the same time, it found that the time that the lower- score students need is longer than the higher-score students.Conclusion: The research demonstrates everyday reading has positive effects on Junior school students’ English records, especially witheveryday 20 minutes or 30 minutes’ reading,particularly for lower- score students.Therefore, English teacher should attach importance to English reading during the teaching and correct students’ wrong ideas of useless reading. Education authorities should actively advocate the Reading method in English teaching, provide administrative guidance and establish specialized Reading class.
