The Chinese Curriculum Standard emphasized the development of students’ ability of independent writing and the focus on provoking students’ writing interest, which makes students learn to write initiatively in order to improve their writing ability, laying a solid foundation of overall improvements of self-Chinese quality. During Junior Grade One, which is a connection between primary school and junior high school, the task of teaching students to form a good habit of writing and improving students’ independent writing ability is particularly important.The study selected 910 junior school freshmen from Guangdong Shunde Desheng School as respondents, studying and analysing the problems and reasons in junior school freshmen’s writing. And detailed study was carried out among 103 junior school freshmen in the two Junior One classes I teach. Basing on the characteristics of Chinese Course, carrying through research and experiments on junior school freshmen in many aspects such as knowledge and skills, emotion and attitude, process and method. With the integrated application and deepening of independence study, I guided the improvement training of junior school freshmen in writing. The study pays attention to the independence and initiative of junior school freshmen during the process of learning and regard them as learning subjects. Learning objectives were realised through many approaches such as independent analysis, exploration, practice, query and creation. Try to change junior school freshmen’s dislike and incapability of reading and writing. Build up a learning plan which is suitable to improve their ability of reading and writing, so as to achieve overall improvement of junior school freshmen’s Chinese accomplishment.Students have been studying independently with the help of teachers since this study was carried out, therefore they have made great progress in independent writing ability. The progress is like following: students pay attention to the accumulation of writing material from reading and form a good reading and writing ability; mastering relevant writing methods and skills, they learnt discrimination and writing of three various genres such as narrative, expository and argumentative writing. They can independently accomplish an over-600-word essay within 40 minutes, whose idea is correctly set up. Moreover, the essay is rich in real feelings with a thoughtful and creative perspective. To Chinese teaching among junior school freshmen especially to the teaching of writing, the study is of momentous current significance.
