The information techno logy courses in senior middle school,connecting with the application of the relevant knowledge in junior middle school,aims to developing the cultivation of the students in this field and improving their special techniques. Then, education information came into being, which not only reflects in the use of multimedia in teaching, but also in school office, library management,campus network construction,online marking,cafeteria database management,distance education training,micro video and so on,which gave b irth to the audio-visual department. The audio- visual department is mainly responsible for all kinds of work related to information technology,and the teachers in this field have also become comprehensive from simple information technology teaching.As a pioneer in the information age,the current situation for teachers in information technology isn’t optimistic. On one hand,they are dealing with much complicated work; on the other hand,they have little chance to share opinions in most of the work of teaching and learning. The school doesn’t offer enough institutional guarantee for their assessment work either,so it is more difficult for them in the assessment of professional titles. To solve this problem,we must seize the current popular “key performance evaluation”. Only by evaluating equally can their working enthusiasm be improved. As a result, information education and education informationization can develop rapidly and steadily,which can effectively guarantee the smooth work of audio-visual service in school.This article applies modern performance evaluation theory to the work of information technology teachers in senior middle school,a particular range and occupation. Based on the questionnaires of the information technology teachers and relevant leaders in the three urban senior middle schools, it begins with the study of performance evaluation theory,synthesizes the existing evaluation index for other subject teachers, combines with the characteristics of high school information technology teachers’ work and analyzes the current performance evaluation for information technology teachers in senior middle schools in detail. Firstly, the assessment is very singularized. The current ordinary high school information technology teachers’ evaluation submits to the one for the college entrance exam teachers, which is “One size fits all”. Secondly, the criteria of assessment doesn’t attach great importance to the information technology teachers’ work. Because of the specificity and complexity of their work, there are no practical system and measures to solve it in almost all the senior middle schools. Thirdly, the assessing system doesn’t promote the enthusiasm of the IT teachers evidently. To solve the above problems, I’d like to offer the following suggestio ns: Firstly, found a responsible leadership team that undersdands the technology and management. Secondly, allow the information technology teachers to take part in the decision of the assessing criteria to enhance its accuracy and involvement. Thirdly, clarify the goal and effect of performance assessment further to make the teachers keep in step with the development of their school. Fourthly, refine the criteria of assessment and assign points one by one to cover the category of information technology teachers’ work. The criteria of assessment should contain the teachers’ attendance, their work on weekdays, part-time work, extra work, and the work quality evaluation of the audiovisual education teachers and others. In a sense, it can make the assessment scentific, reasonable, open and transparent, which can help realize more pay for more work. In this way, good teachers can be more outstanding, which can reflect the role of the performance evaluation. Fifthly, optimize the assessment process and the implementing measures to perfect the criteria of assessment constantly in the developing. The design of the new performance evaluation index for information technology highlights the pointed thought of assessment according to different subjects and the democracy of valuing the assigned points of each project.
