Since reform and opening, people focus on the economic development. With GDP in leading position and per capita GDP rising steadily, people’s living standard is improving, and people gradually concern about the livelihood issues. In recent years, governments begin to pay attention to subjective well-being which reflects current life satisfaction and measures the effect of the government’s policy to same extent. This thesis launches the analysis from the aspects of demographics, family economic status and social security in order to know which factors influence subjective well-being in different regions and its influence degree.Using the data of CGSS, the thesis applies qualitative and quantitative analysis to analyze subjective well-being in different regions from the following aspects, such as age, per capita household income, employment and basic medical insurance. Then the thesis analyzes influence factors of subjective well-being in different regions by ordered logistic regression. Based on these, find influence factors which affect subjective well-being in different regions and propose corresponding strategies to improve residents’ subjective well-being. This not only helps to improve the level of subjective well-being as a whole, but helps to promote stable and harmonious development of the society. In the process of constructing model, the thesis not only includes demographic factors and family economic factors, but analyzed subjective well-being from the perspective of the social security. This is the innovation of the thesis. Using the relevant data of SWB 2012, firstly make multicollinearity diagnosis on each independent variable, then establish their respective ordered logistic regression model using national, eastern, central and western samples, finally calculate forecast precision of the model results. In the meanwhile, use the same method and relevant data of SWB 2010 to establish the model, and make comparison between them to find the difference of influence factors in time. The thesis found that most of the residents in our country are in a state of happiness, and the smallest proportion of the residents is unhappiness. With the increase of age, subjective well-being shows a U-shaped relationship; good health contributes to the improvement of SWB; gender is not a significant factor only in the western region. Marital status, per capita household income and basic medical insurance have significant impact on subjective well-being for all residents. Ceteris paribus, married people are more likely to be in a state of happiness than divorce or unmarried people. Per capita household income has a positive effect on subjective well-being. Compared to 2010, the effect of per capita household income on subjective well-being gradually weakened, but the effect of basic medical insurance on subjective well-being more and more obvious.
