The emergence of virtual reality technology for the classroom teaching provides a new way and converses the location between the teachers and students.Hence,students no longer simply relies on "listen" to obtain knowledge, more is through the hands-on work "to do" to deepen the impression of learning. As a new frontier of technology, virtual reality technology brings light to the education industry and owns the prospect of rapid spread,with its easy manipulation of 3d character, visual image of the human-computer interaction, and a good derivative.This topic studies the lathe simulation training system based on virtual reality technology which is to use mixed teaching concept for research and development of a system.Based on virtual reality technology of the lathe simulation training system,this research studys a teaching software which adopts the combination of teaching theory and virtual practice. The system uses the popular virtual reality platform unity as a development platform, and uses a real lathe operating handle as the signal source input by adopting the development of hardware and software model to complete. This paper mainly explains the development process of virtual simulation training system of lathe, and respectively discusses the building process of the two subsystems of the software development plan and the data acquisition process.Research contents include the following sections:1. The simulation training system of material preparation. Quasi reality technology has the advantage of the 3d visualization, strong immersive, etc. Thus to build a good training system, perfect three-dimensional material is indispensable.Material preparation stage needs to make 3d virtual model of CA6140 engine lathe, the material of model, such as animation, UI interface, using special mechanical modeling software Solid Works. To build CA6140 engine lathe parts, lathe machine is assembled in the modeling software, using common animation modeling software 3ds Max to converse the format of the existing mechanical model, to adjust material, make animation, and finally import virtual reality platform for later use.2. The development of the simulation training system of software system. The module mainly explaines the rules of relevant knowledge of program development in the syllabus lathe teaching.That includes the movement of the lathe hand, highlighting the lathe structure and name of each part, and animation which shows the lathe, cutting tool structure and the main drive for reference plane animation, video, etc.3. The simulation training system for the development of hardware systems.This module introduces using sensors-SCM data acquisition system to gather the movement of the signal of the lathe handles,modify the scrap shape of the lathe, install control components of sensor and single-chip microcomputer, and design the control circuit of the sensors-single chip microcomputer system.4. Installation and debugging of the simulation training system. According to system requirements, we complete the design of lathe simulation training system software and hardware scheme, the machine installation and debugging of the system, and improvement of the unreasonable places in commissioning program.One of the biggest advantages of lathe simulation training system based on virtual reality technology is to use the first virtual reality teaching methods, to perfect the lathe safety of the operation of virtual machining environment, thus the interactive operation to improve the sense of participation and experience of users.Virtual lathe machining can reduce the material consumption, enforce energy saving, perfect good system interaction screen information that timely feedback to the user about the real processing,and improve the students’interests in learning.The system interface is simple,clear and easy to operate. These advantages facilitate the later similar enlightenment significance for the development of virtual simulation teaching software.
