Research And Application Of Cloud Storage Technology In University Information Service

Campus informationization construction, developed rapidly from 1990s, has developed gradually from a network application, which only contains several functions, such as scientific research and information management, into a diversified network. An advanced requirement of information service ability is raised for the campus network in its stability, reliability, interactivity and so on. On the other hand, some schools(departments) of universities have established their own network applications that result in the problem of isolated information. The problems such as the duplicate construction of data and low utilization of servers make the limited IT resources severely. The development of cloud storage technology provides an opportunity to solve the problems produced in the process of campus informationization construction, which has attracted increasing attention in the field of data storage.The way to apply cloud storage to campus informationization is researched in this thesis. Based on the requirements analysis, a cloud storage service system on campus based on HDFS is designed, which represents an attempt to apply the cloud storage technology for campus informationization. Considering properties of the storage of digital resources, a digital resource integration method with low storage cost, high adaptability and reliability is studied and some of the system functions are demonstrated. From the results of the comparative performance tests and the system actual procedure, we can conclude that the system can integrate the storage resource effectually and show better performances of data transmission speed.Cloud storage environment can provide more reliable data storage and share services which promote development of campus informationization. And at the same time, it can prepare for the cloud computing applications on campus.
