The socialist core values is the great strategic deployment which is adopted by our party to build socialism with Chinese characteristics. Since the eighteenth big report in which “three advocated” was put forward, President Xi made a series of important statements about cultivating and practicing socialist core values, and put forward an ardent hope on the youth. Under the background of economic globalization, cultural diversity and network informatization, western countries carried out the value infiltration, to teenagers in our country from the field of ideology, the constant influx of foreign ideological trend, teenagers are lack of life experience, immature thinking, social practice and poor value discrimination, which has more and more negative influence on teenagers. Thus, it is vice for teenagers to develop and practice socialist core values.High school is an important period in which students’ values will form and improve. Socialist core values has been the main values of students, which has been widely accepted by the community, academic community has studied more about the educational strategies of socialist core values which undergraduates need develop and practice, carrying out socialist core values to high school students has become a real project in front of us.This article discusses the current ideological trends and the value tendency of the high school students, which is based on the questionnaires and the interviews of the seven high schools in Li yang. According to the new situation and problems in the process of the cultivating and practicing the socialist core values, the writer analyzes the dilemma of the socialist core values education of the high school students and the relevant reasons from the perspectives of the high school students’ psychological characteristics, the social environment and the educational system. As far as the writer is concerned, related long-term mechanisms need to be set up to create a good atmosphere which is beneficial to the cultivating and practicing the socialist core values of the high school students. These long-term mechanisms are as follows: firstly, the popular interpreting mechanism; secondly, the scientific educating and teaching mechanism; thirdly, the effective social practice mechanism; last but not least, the communication mechanism of cultural education. To sum up, these mechanisms are of great value to the cultivating and practicing socialist core values of high school students.
