For the finger of human,from thumb to little finger is 1—5. Because the length of the thumb is not easily measured. Digit ratios mainly are2D:3D、2D:4D、2D: 5D、3D:4D、3D:5D and 4D:5D. For man and woman,digit ratios had formed as early as the embryo, during the period of development after birth,they were also fixed, so it is one of major parameters of individual morphological development andphysiologic function. There are evidences that 2D:4D is established in utero and there is a negative correlation of prenatal and adult testosterone. High prenatal testosterone promotes the growth of the language skills and logic skills. Therefore,2D:4D might be a good genetic marker of arts and sciences thinking capacity.At present,for digit ratios,especially length ratios(2D:4D)ofthe second finger(2D)and the fourth finger(4D)have been study hot spots of developmental biology, anthropology and so on. Though there are many studies of index finger length toring finger length (2D:4D)in the world,Chinese researchers of this study is less.In the existing researches, researches on relations between the ratio of index finger length toring finger length (2D:4D) and sports capacity are more than researches on relations between the ratio of index finger length toring finger length (2D:4D) and the language skills and logic skills.In order to provide a feasibility indicator for domestic language and logic skills election, we conduct statistical studies of 2D:4D of students and their language and logic skills performance in this thesis.Subjects:(1)Middle school students:Select a junior high school in Qingpu,Shanghai(QingPu Shiyan Junior High School).Test in each grade (six, seven, eight, nine grade)randomly selected two classes,including 103 students in the sixth grade,109 students in the seventh grade,112 students in the eighth grade and 101 students in the ninth grade. (2) University undergraduates:Select 100 teachers in QingPu Shiyan Junior High School who graduate from universities. Among them,50 teachers major in liberal arts and 50 teachers major in science. Be tested students sit up,with arm straight on the table,palms facing up, and fingers naturally straight and closer.Measure from ring finger and the index fingerand palm boundariesto the fingertip with tapes.Results:There were following results in this thesis:(1) Among junior high school students, length ratios(2D:4D) of students who are good at science is less than that of students who are good at liberal arts. Among boys, length ratios(2D:4D) of students who are good at science is less than that of students who are good at liberal arts.But among girls, length ratios(2D:4D) of students who are good at science is more than that of students who are good at liberal arts.In further related analyzes, length ratios(2D:4D) of junior high school students is weakly related to arts and sciences thinking capacity. (2)Among college students, length ratios(2D:4D) of students who are good at science is less than that of students who are good at liberal arts. Among men, length ratios(2D:4D) of students who are good at science is less than that of students who are good at liberal arts. Among girls, length ratios(2D:4D) of students who are good at science is less than that of students who are good at liberal arts.In further related analyzes, length ratios(2D:4D) of university undergraduates is strongly related to arts and sciences thinking capacity.(3)Among whole students,length ratios(2D:4D) of men students is less than that of women students. Further results shows that length ratios(2D:4D) of university undergraduates is more related to arts and sciences thinking capacity than that of junior high students. (4)In men’s psychological development, gene、environment and education are all indispensable. Genetic predisposition is the possibility of psychological development. Gene can guide people towards the best direction to develop their ability.But it will become ture just in the proper environment and education.
