With the development of the internationalization of China, the education of English becomes more and more important. Primary school English, known as the beginning of English study, exerts crucial importance to students’ study. With the fast development of educational system in recent years, English education in rural areas faces new challenge. English study in class is far from enough for students to acquire solid foundation knowledge. Education in family has great influence on students’ English accordingly.Family and school cooperation is one of the popular theme and hot trend in educational study all over the world. As a brand new English teaching method, family and school cooperation in rural areas can be considered as an efficient way to promote the intensive development of primary school student.In this thesis, a research was carried out in a certain primary school for the purpose of finding out the current situation of home and school cooperation in rural area. Using questionnaire, this thesis analyzes elements which have already greatly influenced English teaching of primary school. Meanwhile, the problems in the process of home and school cooperation were put forward and being analyzed briefly. Basically speaking, there are three aspects of elements that influence the home-school cooperation. These three aspects are from school, teacher and parents.Solutions concerning the above problem were given out according to the current situation of our primary English education. Firstly, school should make some effort to improve the cooperation condition. Secondly, teacher in school should improve the skill of home-school cooperation. Thirdly, parents should exert effort to improve the cooperation between home and school. This thesis wishes to provide references to educational reform and to enlarge educational theory and try to promote the sound development of primary school students in rural areas.
