With the reform and opening-up the household registration policy turn tight into loose, a nationwide large-scale population flow came up, it is noting that ethnic minority floating people growth rapidly. There are many inspiring researches focus on floating population, but research on ethnic minority floating population are quite few. These research focuses a group of ethnic minority, and data of these research does not include the period of 2000 to 2010. This paper adopted the sixth national population census and report on China’s migrant population development.This paper takes Uygur ethnic minority from Xinjiang moving to mainland cities as research object. First, use fieldwork data to introduce the situation of Uygur floating in city. Second, combined the nation population census data and the distribution status of Uygur, trying to find the structural character of Uygur floating population. Third, by analysis series events such as Qiegao, Street children from Xinjiang, rethinking the discourse production of Xinjiangren under a social and cultural background.This paper is trying to discuss the problem of Uygur ethnic minority in city, and interpret the question of Xinjiangren. The author wants to offer a new interpretation about ethnic group relationship.
