As the quality standard in society of language testing, washback is generally named as the testing effect on teachers and learners. Differentiated according to the nature, washback can be positive and negative, which has been investigated by many researchers both in theory and practice. Being a teacher of foreign language means needing equipped with the knowledge of washback in testing for the purpose of maximizing the positive impact and minimizing the negative influence as to the teaching and learning. The language testing means a lot to the teaching, and in turn the teaching will exert some influence on the basic elements in testing. If not, the testing will be considered invalid. The existing close relation of testing and teaching is the reason for the vast interest in washback research from lots of linguists and educators. During the language teaching period, the teachers’ entire focus should be on the four kinds of skills, namely reading, writing, speaking and listening, among which the former two constitute the language output and the latter two constitute the language input. Of all the skills the writing part is deemed as the most difficult, which needs the formal instruction, training and long-term practice.“Washback” often means the testing influence on the teaching and learning and the present study has the GP washback defined as the influence from GP in the JSEAGT(Jiangxi) on the teachers and learners in the junior high school, whose perceptions, processes and products are also involved. In order to gather the data, three research instruments have been adopted, which are questionnaires, classroom observation and interviews. In the research, the participants include 21 teachers and 130 students from a junior high school. According to the investigation results, it is implied that the direct or indirect GP washback JSEAGT(Jiangxi) does exist, affecting the perceptions and processes of the teachers and students, and the influence is full of complication as a result. As to the phenomenon of teaching and learning to test, it is suggested that the teachers should carry out what is regulated in the English Curriculum Standards(ECS) during the grammar teaching period, instead of regarding the grammar isolated from the whole part in the teaching process; the teaching should cover much more kinds of activities and exercises and the teachers are supposed to cultivate the independent learning abilities of the students in the teaching process.
