As one of national principal organs adopting orphans, children welfare institution mainly takes care of children in basic necessities of life, making them have basic protections. But, due to various constraints, children welfare institutions mainly serve as living places where the children need stay for a long term. Besides, the management model of children welfare institution is not perfect, resulting in that the children cannot get all-round development. Coupled with lacking of personal life and family background, the children have varying degrees of behavioral problems. Taking seven school-age children in the initial stage of growth as study objectives, this paper found that they not only have deviations in cognition, but also have serious moral,academic, emotional and daily behavioral problems by practical scenarios observation and interviews of the staff.Taking Y Children Welfare Association as an example, this paper deeply observed and recorded the behaviors of the seven school-age children of Y Children Welfare Association during the author’s professional internship. Then, it classified the behavioral problems and analyzed the causes of the problems by interviewing the staff.The reasons not only include the children’s life experiences and lacking of family environment, but also include imperfect management model, non-professional staff,insufficient public concerns and the impact of peer groups. Thirdly, according to the behavioral problems of the school-age children and the requirements of the staff, it carried out social interventions by six periods of group work and typical casework to help them re-recognize their behavioral problems and improve their behaviors. Finally,it made professional reflections about the difficulties encountered in the intervention process. Although, having improved the behavioral problems of the school-age children of Y Children Welfare Association by professional intervention, the social workers still need to show better professionalism facing a special group as well as strengthen affirmation of self-value and understand the importance of school supervising teachers, which can better reflect the professional values of social workers in children welfare associations.Facing the differences of children’s own experiences and growth environment,the school-age children of Y Children Welfare Associations produce the deviation in children ’s ideas and values. As a result of the author’s own professional ability,limited practice time and inadequate resources, during the practice, the author can only provide the research objects with social work intervention in cognitive behavioral aspects. Through carrying out the "Self-change " group in the welfare home, the author looks forward to the practice experience and reflection. According to the actual situation of children’s welfare home, the author can put forward someopinions for searching to the welfare home.From the analysis of resource link, the author hopes to be able to integrate more government resources and social resources,that can provide the national policy support for the service object of the same type and give more recognition and support in the social environment.
