Nowadays, with the rapid development of new media technologies, we have entered the information era. In the information age, information becomes one important source just as the energy or material. Like other resources, information is not to be distributed equally among all people. Due to the existence of the digital divide, people of high socioeconomic status can get more information on the Internet faster than people of low socioeconomic status. In the industrialization and development process of the urbanization of our country, the rural land is being taken over for use constantly, has caused a large number of "peasants of lost territory ".Therefore, this paper focuses on Chongqing, the city be known as “The epitome of Chinese urbanization processâ€. Through empirical investigation of the No.1 primary school students of Chongqing College Town, analysis the digital divide between urban and rural students, who is living in the same area and enrolled in the same school. The paper consists of five chapters, the chapters are as follows:Chapter One, the first chapter is an introduction that introduces the significance and objectives of this research as well as the relevant study of the digital divide and sociology of the childhood in academic world.Chapter Two, at first, this chapter define the related concepts, and then based on the previous theories; the present study advances four hypotheses. The most important assumption is that there is a digital divide between urban and rural students and the digital divide will affect the socialization process of pupils. To test hypotheses, I developed a research framework based on relevant research methods.Chapter Three, this chapter introduce the region and the survey respondents in this study, and explains the reasons for selecting the object of study.Chapter Four and Chapter Five, in this chapter hypothesis of this paper is verified through the questionnaire data analysis. In this way, we may arrive at the conclusions as follows: 1) Urban pupils have more computers, mobile phones than rural pupils. 2) Urban pupils spend more time on the Internet and read newspapers and magazines than rural pupils. 3) Urban pupils are more inclined to use the Internet to get knowledge and information, and rural pupils are more inclined to use the Internet for entertainment. 4) Because of the digital divide between urban and rural students, the degree of socialization of urban pupils is higher than rural pupils.Chapter Six, this chapter got out of the final conclusion of this study:†Even living in the same area and study at the same school, because of the digital divide between urban and rural students, the degree of socialization of urban pupils is higher than rural pupils. †On the basis of foreign experience, submits Corresponding Improvement Suggestion according to current situation of our country... |
