the development of higher education as a high degree of social development in the active power to promote the development of society, in the era of knowledge economy, the extent of the development of higher education, and provide the basis of countries in the international competition.At the same time our country face the relative lack of higher education and the contradiction between the social demand for higher education in our country, the key to solve this contradiction is to raise the productivity of higher education. So the productivity of higher education, found that the productivity development trend and influence factors of the development of higher education is of great significance.Total factor productivity is an important indicator of reaction productivity, production activities reflect the technical efficiency of input and output level.The main measure for total factor productivity are the residual value method, the stochastic frontier production function method and nonparametric method.DEA2.1 Malmquist index method is used, to our country’s higher education from 2000 to 2011 total factor productivity change dynamically, and the decomposition of further study of higher education in China at the root of the total factor productivity growth.Through empirical studies have found that our country since 2000, our country’s higher education total factor productivity is mainly rely on technological progress, the higher education resource allocation of higher education of our country the growth of total factor effect is not obvious.Through the analysis, this paper argues that improving the technology level of higher education, higher education "teaching" development path, is our country’s higher education strategic development direction in the future.Through the analysis, this paper argues that improving the technology level of higher education, higher education "teaching" development path, is our country’s higher education strategic development direction in the future.
