As is well-known to us, teaching of composition writing is a focal and difficult point in Chinese teaching, whilst narrative writing teaching is the most essential and critical sector of Chinese composition teaching. It is not only because narrative writing can be based on extensive materials, with topics close to the lives in Junior Middle School, but also students can experience the beauty of life during writing and thus promote the quality of students’ personality. However, the current teaching of composition writing is worrying due to the influence of the so-called idea of “we can’t pursue Chinese language as an integrate system”, “we should weaken styles”. In view of these, the author focuses on the statistic analysis of narrative writing knowledge in Junior Middle School’s Chinese teaching materials from the perspective of view of knowledge of modern cognitive psychology, and studies the problems exist in students’ writing. Based on the teaching cases of the personal practical experiences and the knowledge of narrative composition writing, the author attempts to explore targeted and acceptable solutions for writing courses and make reasonable suggestions for narrative composition teaching based on knowledge classification of cognitive psychology.The main body of the thesis is composed of the following five parts: Part one is an introduction. It illustrates the background of the study and the current situations of teaching of narrative writing in order to clarify the aim and the meaning of the study. Part two is about definition of concepts involved in narrative writing knowledge teaching and literature review. Part three discusses the present problems and reasons in writing teaching based on narrative composition writing knowledge. Part four is case studies on teaching of narrative composition writing in Junior Middle School based on knowledge classification of cognitive psychology. Part five proposes teaching strategies and suggestions for the teaching of narrative composition writing in Junior Middle School based on knowledge classification of cognitive psychology in accordance with the features of narrative composition writing.
