In the era of technology and economic globalization, the level of competitiveness of a country is reflected by ownership of intellectual property and innovation ability. Nowadays, sports event operation, one of the pillar industries of sports economy, has brought the broad prospects and huge economic benefit to the society. It also has brought profound social and economic impact in terms of development of sports in China. With the right of tournament approval of right was canceled by the State Council, the sport industry ia about to enter a rapid development stage.With the commercialization of sport, IPR protection has becomes a important part in the process of event operations. The importance of intellectual property protection of events has been realized. So that,how to use and protect the intellectual property in proper way is a urgent problem that must be solved.In order to find the problems of IPR protection in sport event operation, this paper chooses literature analysis, case studies, expert interviews and comparative analysis as the methods to do the research from the aspects as publicity right of athletes, ambush marketing and franchising.In response to these problems, this study presents the following solutions: First, for tournament organizers, paying more attention to the IPR protection; secondly, constructing a three-dimensional protection system from the legislation, judicial system and administration; and finally, to cultivate interdisciplinary, professionals and do more researches on IPR protection in sport event operation. |
