The Post-tenure Review(PTR) of America is a part of evaluation systerm for faculty of America,which was established for reforming tenure systerm of America in the context of higher education accountability. The aim of PTR is to amend tenure systerm during its practising. On the premise of academic freedom, those who has been got tenure are required to have PTR regularly which aims at inspiring faculty to develop.It sets the teaching, researching and service as the evaluation standard and ensure the result of evaluation correct and effective by means of peer review, which makes the process just and fair. In addition, those who have doubt on the result of PTR can appeal for arbitration. All in all, the purpose of PTR is not to review the tenure professors again,but to inspire them to promote further.In this research, we attempt to study the PTR in the view of education accountability. Firstly, we overview what the PTR is, including its origin, development,practise process and features. Then we analyze above factors by using some theories of accountability. Finally, we hope to reflect the faculty system and the idea of accountability in china according to the research.
