According to modern classroom teaching evaluation theory, "classroom—teaching—evaluation is regarded as a dynamic circular relationship.Evaluation and teaching are mutually reinforcing. Evaluation is an important link in teaching process.According to investigation and research, nowadays people attach more importance to teaching than evaluation in our country, which leads to a lot of problems.For example, there is a single subject of assignment, which is mainly thought as the teacher. the methods of assignment is unitary, which is mainly believed as the written test.Evaluation function tends to identification and selection.In June 2001, the state council passed The Decision on the Reformation and Development of the Basic Education and put forward The Outline of Basic Education Curriculum Reform.”It points out that in terms of course evaluation, change should be made to put too much emphasis on the function of the selection. Evaluation should promote students’ development and teachers should improve the function of the teaching practice.From then on, developmental evaluation begins to be known as a kind of scientific evaluation method.It is the fundamental aim of developmental evaluation to promote students’ comprehensive and lifelong development. The diversification of evaluation content includes knowledge skills, emotional attitude and values. According to the diversification of evaluation methods, we should change the main evaluation method of pen paper test and develop other qualitative evaluations.According to the diversification of evaluation subject, we should pay attention to the participation of students and parents.Evaluation purposes should be changed from identification and selection function into students’ comprehensive and lifelong development.The fundamental purpose of English teaching is to cultivate students’ comprehensive utility ability of English.The developmental evaluation in English teaching not only conforms to the requirements of the times but also is beneficial to the students’ lifelong development.As English Curriculum Standards of Compulsory Education(2011 Version) is introduced, how the developmental evaluation is carried out in English teaching in rural schools? What difficulties do you have in progress?In order to understand the above problems in depth, the writer did the questionnaire and interview survey to four schools in villages and towns of Zhong Jiang. Teacher questionnaire and student questionnaire are divided into four dimensions, including evaluation subject, evaluation content, evaluation method and evaluation purpose separately:Through the analysis of the questionnaire data, the present situation of the developmental evaluation progress in rural junior high school is very unsatisfied. The results of the study are found as follows :Firstly,In evaluation subject, it is unitary and English teacher is still the main evaluation subject.Secondly,In evaluation content, it is one-sided and focuses on the English language knowledge.Thirdly,In methods of evaluation, it is single and the main way is written test.The last point,in evaluation purpose, it is not varied and the main purpose is to improve students’ English scores.The survey results, interviews and classroom observation are studied in depth. Conclusions are obtained as follows :Firstly, School leaders are too much of utilitarians, ignoring the evaluation system of "people-oriented".Secondly,English teachers’ professional competence and evaluation ability is not high.Thirdly,Learning cognition is often biased by students.Finally,The school education evaluation of parents is blindly subjective.Based on the problems related to the above research conclusion, the author put forward the following opinions:Firstly,The management level :1.Set up the "people-oriented" concept of English evaluation 2.Build management culture and evaluation culture of developmental evaluation 3.Optimize the structure of first-class English teachers in villages and towns.Secondly,Teachers’ level:1.Improve the ability of English teachers’ professional quality and evaluation 2.Establish a variety of English evaluation 3.Comprehensive evaluation of English content 4.English evaluation standards should be diversified, and we should pay attention to the differences of students.Thirdly,Students’ level1 Establish a new self-assessment concept 2.Form a good habit of self-examination.Finally,The family level 1.Parents should change the unscientific concept of education evaluation 2.Parents should care about all aspects of performance...
