It is proposed that the cultural power should be one of the strategic objectives for our nation for the first time during the sixth plenary session of the17th CPC Central Committee. Sports activities are the critical element of the socialistic culture in China, andphysical training also promotes the cultural development. Among the various sport activities, soft-ball is a rising program with distinctive national features. It combines both the traditional Taiji and the modern physical activities, presenting the Chinese philosophical thoughts and the practically scientific fitness concept, with lively body language. It is of broad scope of application, along with national traits and culture. This sport activity, as a extremely beneficial exercise, earns widespread affection as well, called as “the quintessence of modern sports”. This study investigates the current situation of Softball movement in Jinzhong, Shanxi, and analyzesthe outcome of the investigation. Ultimately, it will make some scientific and practical suggestions for the popularization of the softball activities in Jinzhong. What’s more, the author analyzes both the series of skills and tricks, and the competitive race of softball,putting forward some proper advices for softball training counterm easures. Secondly, the trainers of softball are featured with smallnumber and age as well as low academic standard. Then the government attach less importance to the development of Taiji-roli-Ball. Fourthly, the publicity effort for softball is not enough. And at last it is attributed to the sluggish economic development in Jinzhong.
