Since the 1970 s and 1980 s, American universities have begun to implement the leadership education. By 2006, nearly a thousand universities in America have carried out the education activities of leadership education. As a representative American female college in leadership education, Wellesley College has made a remarkable contribution in its leadership education. According to the "New York Times" report, the number of female directors graduated from Wellesley is more than any other university in the World Fortune 500 companies. This article based on the historical research, has carried on a systematic combing from its leadership education concept, management organization, implementation in Wellesley leadership education. Using factor analysis method, literature method and case study method, do this study on American female leadership education, aiming to perspective American female higher education from the perspective of leadership education and put forward the suggestions of female leadership education in our country.This thesis is mainly divided into five parts, the first chapter is the introduction。It first introduces the research background, comments on the research situation at home and abroad, also illustrates the research purpose and significance and last refers to the research methods used in the dissertation. The second chapter mainly introduces the background of America female leadership education from three aspects about elite education inheritance, feminism and women’s college, and reveals the inevitability of female leadership education. The third chapter has combed the production and development of America female leadership education in two stages systematically, and put forward the stage characteristics. In the fourth chapter, it takes Wellesley College as a case, analyzing the current situation of its leadership education from education concept, management organization, the implementation of the pathway systematically. The fifth chapter, it summarizes the characteristic of American female leadership education and the enlightenment we can gain from American female leadership education. |
