A experimental manuscript named the ordinary high school mathematics curriculum standard, was carried out and promulgated by The ministry of education of the People’s Republic of China in April,2003. It mentions that the high school students should learn more basic math knowledge and learning-skills, understand the basic concept and the nature of the conclusions, what’s more, they also should inquire about the backgrounds and applications. The manuscript also refers that the students should experience the math thinking and the affect of proceed-learning. As we all know that the thought of symbolic-graphic combination(SGC) comes from math. Not only it is one of the four greatest thoughts, but also it is the quintessence of math learning. In other words, it runs though the whole math-learning. SGC has changed the trends of algebra and geometry separation and united them completely, so that it largely promotes the development of the math-leaning.The research on the usage of symbolic-graphic combination to improve solving ability has important meaning in theory and realism. It is beneficial to enrich and complete the high school mathematics problem-solving theory, to beneficial to promote students’ mastery of mathematical knowledge, and it is also beneficial to implement the ministry of education of high school mathematics curriculum requirements. It can lay a solid foundation for the students by using symbolic-graphic combination to introduce new knowledge, to build a new concept, to solve the new problems and to stimulate students’ interest in learning.On the basis of consulting a large number of literatures at home and abroad, by combining with the author’s own experience, I study the current situation of symbolic-graphic combination in the teaching of senior high school mathematics. The studies show that most of the students can use the symbolic-graphic combination to solve the problem, but the understanding of this method is not deep, and students lack of understanding of its historical development, the students’ways and skills of solving problem are not perfect. There are many misconceptions:1.Digital Graphic transformed into each other is not equivalent, nor simple;2.Confusion, biased;3.Mutual transformation process into a logic loop;4.Drawing scribble, cause illusion;5.Subjective,out of thin air. There are many reasons for this result:firstly, there is no exact definition of symbolic-graphic combination in the text; secondly, in the teaching process, teachers pay more attention to the problem solving method, neglect nourishing the mind; thirdly, the students’logical thinking has yet to be improved.After analysis the reasons why students cannot have the appropriate way to resolve the math questions, the author refers to the methods of how to cultivate the SGC. First, to master through specific examples,; Second, to learn from the consolidation of the math phenomenon; Third, to know well by learning the concepts, theorems and deductions. All in all, these are the teaching strategies--which can help students to improve their own problem solving and thinking abilities. Firstly, the teachers can have their teaching concepts updated, and the students should change their old learning methods as well; Secondly, teachers should pay much more attention to the typical examples teaching and analysis of typical errors; Thirdly, students should enhance the ability of algebraic and geometry interchange.
