Study On Hedonism Among Contemporary College Students

Hedonism， as an ideological value has taken root and spreading in ourcountry,along with the sustained and steady economic development and the advancingof reform and open policy.The value started by the aristocrat,power class towardspopularity,its influence also radiation to all aspects of our social economy andculture. Hedonism emphasis on personal desire of satisfy and excessive enjoyment.The thought of hedonism was lionized for fit the public thought and cause the public’semotional resonance.Among the affected group, we can see that, not only has theprofound influence on the party members and cadres, the general group, but also as aspecial group of the college are affected due to immature, easily influenced by varioussocial pluralistic ideology. Their mental states reflect their value orientations.Research of their thinking indicates a certain inclination of hedonism. Recently, withthe deepening of economic globalization and new media active, hedonism has afurther diffusion in the campus, distorted values of the contemporary college students,making their mental states negative, abandon our fine traditional virtue. Obviously, itis extremely important to pay more attention to contemporary college students’rational view of happiness.Scientifically and rationally criticize the hedonism, guidingthe contemporary college students to become a useful people to our positive healthysociety is the key thing that every ideological and political worker should be vigilantof it and arouse high attention.Based on the theoretical analysis of hedonism, this paper defined hedonism fromfive aspects:the contemporary college students’ state of mind, study style,consumption, and marriage. we has carried on the questionnaire survey on someuniversity students in Hangzhou.The study found college students are cozy,lazy andlow pursuit in thought, the weakening of study center position, the existenceof consumerism tendency of consumption concept, the existence of the tendency ofutilitarianism in job-hunting and marriage,all these bring a strong negative impacton the contemporary college students’ healthy growth, which make their ideal andbelief weakened. What’s worse, it also lead to the bad viewpoint ofentertainment and consumption concept, strengthen the utilitarian orientation ofcontemporary college students,it also prevent the development of contemporary college students’ healthy personality and the formation of healthy campus culture.Thecauses of this phenomenon, the author thinks that can be attributed to thefollowing three points: the social cultural factors;absence of correct valueseducation;college students lack of self-discipline ability. According to the negativeeffect caused by the hedonism thoughts and behavior of college students, we putforward the following related countermeasures and suggestions:the first is to guidestudents to establish rational view of happiness;the second is to strengthen theincentive effect of upstanding style of study;the third is to educate students toestablish a good media literacy and the correct view of consumption.
