A Study On Technique&Tactics Combination Of Chinese Elite Male Pen-hold And Knife-hold Table Tennis Plavers

Table tennis has always been honored to be our "national ball", the fact that Chinese table tennis can maintain at the top of the world for such a long time is indispensable for the strong scientific support behind it. The researches about the winning principles and the trend of world table tennis development are the key for Chinese table tennis to maintain the top position in the field of techniques and tactics. It’s been a long time debate between pen hold and knife hold to contend for the best technique. Since the time that new rules came into power, the technique and tactic system of table tennis is changing gradually too. Thus, employing the method of video observation statistics, data mathematical statistics, this paper studies Chinese elite men knife-holders Zhang jike and Ma Long, pen-holders Ma Lin and Xu Xin as the research subjects, analyzing their technique effectiveness as the following aspects:the technique of "three phases", the usage of combined techniques, the usage of ball placement, the usage of ball path; comparing the data to find the features and difference of technique&tactic between pen-hold and knife-hold. The results show that:Technique&tactic of "service and attack phase" of elite men knife-holders and pen-holders:for the first3strikes, the technique combination of knife-holders are mainly of service-attack-attack, coordinating with long placement, the service placements are mainly short services toward opponent’s forehand or center line positions. About ball path, both pen-holders and knife-holders tend to use forehand diagonal path, in addition, knife-holders also tend to use backhand diagonal path while pen-holders’usage of three ball paths of forehand are all higher than that of their backhand.Technique&tactic of "receiving and attack phase" of elite men knife-holders and pen-holders:for the coordination technique combination of the2nd strike and the4th strike, knife-holders’ technique combination is mainly of attack-attack-attack, the placements of receiving are usually towards the backhand end-line of the opponent. Pen-holders’coordination technique combinations are control-attack-attack, the placements of receiving are usually towards the backhand end-line of the opponent too. For ball paths, knife-holders are mainly diagonal path of both forehand and backhand, pen-holders are mainly forehand diagonal path and forehand straight line.Technique&tactic of "rallies phase" of elite men knife-holders and pen-holders:During the phase of playing rallies, both knife-holders and pen-holders tend to use forehand diagonal line, but knife-holders’ball paths are relatively even distributed than pen-holders while pen-holders rely on forehand diagonal line more:two times than that of the other two ball paths. Seeing from the points gained and lose, knife-holders get50more points than pen-holders in the phase of playing rallies.
