As the development of society and the progress of the times, education has already turned from previous elite education to nowadays public education. Senior secondary education tends to develop as compulsory education. Education for students attracts more and more attention from society, families and schools. The researcher of this study found that not only in students’intelligence factors play more important role in their chemistry study, but also their non-intelligence factors are significant influence in it. Therefore, how to help students activate their motivations in chemistry study and arouse their interests in chemistry study, the research set forward to completely and deeply analyze, discuss and investigate it.The researcher thoroughly explored senior one freshmen’s interests and motivations in chemistry study by questionnaire, interviews and records and analyzed the correlation between their motivations and achievements in chemistry study. The results showed that although freshmen of senior one were more or less interested in chemistry, the degree of study motivation was mainly affected by school, families and society. Their achievements in chemistry were tightly related their study motivations.After reviewing all kinds of study motivation theories and analyzing the intrinsic and extrinsic factors in influencing chemistry study, the researcher combined them with the characteristics of students who came from the school where the researcher was employed to arouse their study motivations. The researcher made full use of a series of methods, including creation question situation, classroom effective teaching, guidance on after-class learning methods, contact between families and school and so on. After a semester of teaching practice, the atmosphere of chemistry learning in experimental classes was thickened and their study motivations are strengthened a lot so that their achievement in chemistry learning are improved significantly. After this period of intervention study, the researcher thought there were many methods to activate student motivations in chemistry study, namely focusing on methods and making excellent use of teaching skills in the process of teaching, communicating with students sincerely and balancing intelligence and non-intelligence factors. Based on the analysis of the intrinsic and extrinsic factors of learning motivation in chemistry course for the freshmen of senior one, an efficient strategies of learning are constructed to increase the quality and effects of chemistry teaching for the purpose of easing the burden of chemistry teachers and raising students’ achievement in chemistry study. |
