In today’s background of the entirely new information society, the score of the comprehensive national strength competition is the competition of the innovative talents. Having the information technology accomplishment of the base on reading ability is the essential features of the innovative talents. The national medium and long term education reform and development plan outline (2010-2020) has been put forward the sense of personal training, setting up the sense of becoming a useful person of everyone, facing all of the students, promoting students’ growing and becoming a useful person in order to form a learning society of "Everyone, everywhere can learn, always can learn."This study aimed to study the function in using mind mapping in taking notes, knowledge structuring and visualization, helping the students to improve the basic reading ability and basic learning ability by applying mind mapping in the course of biology teaching, In order to lay foundations of lifelong learning we should master the scientific learning methods. This essay comprehensively use literature research method, questionnaire survey method, interviewing method, case studying method, experimental methodology to experimental study and theoretical study on the research of improving the biology reading ability by applying mind mapping. I base on aggregating analysis of the theory of pedagogy and psychology and other subjects on teaching application of the mind mapping and developing the biology reading ability and the status study at home and abroad. I set up the principles and strategies of improving the biology reading ability by applying mind mapping. After experimental studying two teaching classes for a term, I analyzed and came to a conclusion that improving the biology reading ability by applying nind mapping. The result of experiment shows that we can enhance the biology learning interest, improve the biology reading ability and make an achievement of biology learning. Aftetr applying mind mapping, the parts of the three biology reading ability, including reading motives, reading strategies and self-supervises have been greatly improved, and at last to reach the goal of improving the students’ learning ability.This study aimed to study the improvement of the new curriculum reform, fulfilling the curriculum ideas of "For all students", raising the students’ information technology accomplishment and storing up some source materials of researching and development of biology education.
