| When it comes to the issue which university to choose for the exam candidates, they may take lots of factors into account, such as talents cultivation, scientificresearch, comprehensive reputation of the university and quality of students etc. Theclassification of universities is directly determined by these factors, we use the systemclustering method to cluster them by selecting scores of these seven major factors ofthe37so-called "985" universities in Mainland of China, such as talents scores, scientific research scores, comprehensive reputation scores and quality scores ofstudents etc. When divided into three categories, Tsinghua University and PekingUniversity belong to the first category, Fudan University, Zhejiang University,Nanjing University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University and University of Science andTechnology of China normalize to the second category, the remaining universities gointo the third category, which is basically the same as the current mainstreamdomestic university-rankings, while proposes a new concept that the universities inthe same category have few differences and is a good guide for the examinees. Then path analysis method is introduced for analysis of the relationship betweenthe factors and effect on the classifications of the seven factors, under the samecondition, a factor impacts on other factors more, then the possibility this sample isnormalized to the same category is lower. After testing the model and gaining the pathcoefficients, we obtain that the quality of students, talents and the differences incollege admission scores have greater impact on the classification. At the same time, quality of students has greater direct or indirect impact on the talents, scientificresearch and comprehensive reputation of university, talents also has a great directimpact on scientific research and comprehensive reputation of university, moreover, the improvement of scientific research and comprehensive reputation of universitywill directly enhance the overall quality of the university, which is found to improvequality of university. |
