Strategy Defense Education To Promote The Overall Quality Of College Students

National defense education in colleges is an important part of the national defenseundertakings in China. It plays a unique role in the education system of colleges. Theconnections between the national defense education and the education in colleges alsopromote the comprehensive quality of students. College students are the successors andinheritors of the national culture and spirit. There qualities and conditions are closelyrelated to the future of our nation. This thesis explores the essence of national defenseeducation and quality-oriented education from the perspective of “comprehensivequality of students promoted by national defense education”. The function of nationaldefense education as motivation for the comprehensive quality is analyzed.This thesis analyzes the essential features of national defense education. It’sdiscussed from three aspects, the nature positioning, main features, and valuefunction. The article is guided by the theory of all round development of humans byMarx. The comprehensive quality of college students are divided into ideological andpolitical quality, scientific and cultural quality, spiritual and innovative quality. All ofthe qualities mentioned above are elaborated in the thesis. Based on the understandingof the nature of the national defense education and comprehensive quality of students,the interrelationship and the functional roles are explained. The operational rules andbasic principles of the relation and interaction are discussed.The intention of thisresearch is to find a strategy and method to improve the comprehensive quality ofcollege students through national defense education, based on the status quo of nationaldefense education and the demand of nation, schools, and individuals.As a conclusion,the national defense education and quality education should be closely combined inorder to optimize the system and teaching content of national defense education. At thesame time, we should follow the pace of the time. Through innovative educationalmethods and with the faculties engaged in the national defense education, the nationaldefense education will become a long-term educational process.
