Oral communication is the product of the new curriculum reform in2001, it means that the Chinese teaching in our country began to pay attention to the interpersonal function of oral communication. Before that, the reading and writing are the focus of Chinese educational circles in our country. From "listen and speak" to "oral communication", the change of name brings the innovation of ideological and theoretical which is to build a new course. Oral communication is not as simple as listen and speak, it is a language ability which focus on procedure、replication and adjustment. For us, a good ability of oral communication can not only enhance people’s communicating but also reflect people’s overall quality. All in all, it has a great influence on people’s daily life. However, decades have passed since the start of new curriculum reform.The situation of teaching oral communication is still worried.The thesis try to reorganize the development history of oral communication textbooks and analyse the situation of teaching oral communication in secondary school. It shows the awkward position of oral communication in junior high school. At the same time, I try to re-studied the problem that what to teach in oral communication with comparing the three editions from people education press, beijing university press and jiangsu education press for junior Chinese. Only if we realize’what to teach’can we know ’how to teach’. At last, I try to give some suggestions of oral communication textbook which bases on researching teaching through textbook and rethinking the questions of teaching.
