Presidents’ Professional Ethics Of Contemporary Chinese University

This article will define the concept of university presidents’ professional ethics:the code of conduct and value that the presidents of University should follow during professional activities. Based on the Inherent requirements of the occupation, the paper is divided into five parts: First, in the view of tradition, comb the professional ethics of higher education leaders in the ancient Chinese and in modern. Second, from the perspective of international scrutiny, carding the ethical requirements of foreign university president.Third, on one part, I’m trying to understand expectations of general teachers and students through questionnaires and organization of network data. Fourth, mainly through the collation of data on the network, showing the real state about university presidents’ professional ethics. Fifth, analyze the reasons of anomie of professional ethics and come up with countermeasures.The main conclusions are:the public’s expection of the university presidents are as follows, dedicated, having moral character, having sense of service (for teachers, students, community), and also the leader of conscience and the moral model of the society. However, the reality is that university presidents have not being the conscience of the university, as well as the social leaders. Second, aimed at the gap, there are three proposals:highlight the autonomy and de-administration of the university,; get community respect and recognition of the profession of university presidents; form a community and set the principal convention.
