The Negative Influence Of Postmodern Ethics To The Contemporary College Students And Its Strategies

Along with the strengthening of economic globalization and China’s reform and opening up, our country is deeply influenced by postmodernism in the process to realize the socialist modernization, especially in the field of ethics. The research on postmodern ethics has not yet been formed a complete theory, the contemporary college students only heard or understand a word or two about postmodernism, postmodern ethics is even poorly understood, however,their thoughts and actions have obvious inclination of postmodernism. Their moral belief appears to be blank and deeps into crisis. It is a period in which we must face and solve the problem to cultivate the ideal moral successors.Postmodern ethics is against universalism and essentialism, emphasizing that moral has no rational basis,moral content is uncertain,moral subject is not the center and the goal of moral is windy. However, the needed of moral belief is the strong rationality, determined emotion, and the ideal value beyond reality. The discord between them leads to that it is difficult to establish the correct scientific belief for the students who always walk in the forefront of the times. In order to have a better understanding about the moral belief of contemporary college students, help them build a rich spiritual world, and improve their moral consciousness, this paper, through a comprehensive study of theoretical research results about postmodern ethics and moral belief from many scholars, combining with the postmodern features of the moral belief of the contemporary college students exploring how to weaken the negative effects of modern ethics, help students to establish a scientific moral belief.This paper is divided into four parts:the first part discusses the meaning of postmodern ethics and moral belief, to emphasis the essence of them. The second part discusses the negative influence on the contemporary university student to set up moral belief. The third part discusses the reason that postmodern ethics as a trend of thought has a negative impact on Chinese contemporary college students’ moral belief, in other words the reason students can be influenced by postmodern ethics lies in the existence of the root of society,school and individual. The forth part discusses how to solve the problem that postmodern ethics has negative influence on college students’ moral belief, namely, to deepen the theoretical research of moral belief,optimize cultivation environment of moral belief, strengthen school education to help them set up correct moral belief.
