With our rural labor transfer from rural area to city, the rural boarding school students mostly become left-behind children. The present condition not only relates to the social vulnerable group’s basic survival question, but also affects the development of rural education. Meanwhile, it also will be a long-term problem. Solved the problem of rural boarding school students in question, will be beneficial to develop the rural education and improve its quality.Social emotional learning is a process, which means that with the influence of school management, education and home school cooperation and so on, the students learn knowledge, attitudes and skills of how to correctly deal with the relationship with themselves, and others, and the social, and the nature. It makes them have the sense of responsibility, better understand and manage their emotions, establish good interpersonal relationships, and form the positive emotion and good character. Students in school should not only learn knowledge effectively, but also grasp the value of social emotion, attitude, knowledge and skills compatible with the student’s experience in safety and health school atmosphere. Then become a modern citizen having a sense of democratic participation.Make social emotional learning into the rural boarding school, can not only improve the management of the school, but also can effectively guide school create a safe, happy, tolerant and participatory learning and living environment for children, Cultivate children’s good self-awareness and ability to deal with the problem. This development has far-reaching significance for the schools and students.This study is divided into five parts:The first part is the introduction, Account the research background at home and abroad on social emotional learning, deep analysis the purpose and significance of the research, clarify the train of thought, Thoroughly analyzes and summarizes the current situation of China’s rural boarding school students’ social emotional learning.The second part is the literature review. Define the core concepts, then analyze and summarize previous research of social emotional learning, to comprehensively grasp the status and dynamic research at home and abroad.The third part is the process of the research. Introduce the current situation and selection of sample school, the analysis of data, the questionnaire‘s distribution and recovery, statistical analysis of data and preliminary.The fourth part is the analysis of current situation and reasons of social emotional development for rural boarding school students. This part is the core of this study. Investigate and analyze the social emotional development status of rural boarding schools, and the obtained data were analyzed by SPSS software, to study the existing rural boarding students’ social emotional problems in development, and analysis of its causes.The fifth part is the countermeasure part. In view of the existing problems, Put forward suggestions and Countermeasures of social emotional learning in rural area, which from the management mechanism, support system, campus environment, home school cooperation, classroom teaching and school-based curriculum and so on.
